DESIGNER IRANI MITRA’S INDOWESTERN SAREE SWEEPS OFF DELHI, THE HEART OF INDIA

In the vibrant and culturally rich city of Kolkata, where tradition and modernity seamlessly intertwine, Designer Irani Mitra has carved her niche in the world of fashion. Hailing from the cultural capital of India, Irani Mitra has not only made a mark in the Bengali film industry but has also challenged the conventional norms of clothing, introducing groundbreaking concepts like the Indo-Western saree.

Her illustrious portfolio boasts collaborations with some of the biggest stars in the Bengali film fraternity, including RITUPARNA SENGUPTA,INDRANI HALDER,USHASHICHAKRABORTY, and the enchanting Rangabati girl, DEVLINAKUMAR. Irani Mitra’s creations are a testament to her unique ability to infuse western essence into traditional Indian aesthetics, giving birth to the exquisite trend known today as the Indowestern saree.

Breaking free from the shackles of traditional notions and patterns, Irani Mitra’s artistic journey has been one of constant innovation. Last month marked a significant milestone in her career as she completed her first Hindi movie, leaving a trail of anticipation for the exciting projects lined up on her path.

Irani Mitra’s artistic prowess took center stage at the prestigious Indian Couture Runway Week held on the 16th of December in Delhi. Travelling all the way from Kolkata, she presented a dazzling array of designs that captivated the audience. The show’s brand model, DIBYADUTI BISWAS also served as the SHOWSTOPPER adding to the allure of the event. The makeup artist, KAVITASHAW, worked magic behind the scenes, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

The runway witnessed a total of 11 female models and 6 male models, each adorned in Irani Mitra’s visionary creations. For the female models, she showcased new designs of Indowestern sarees, pushing the boundaries of conventional attire. The male models, on the other hand, donned fabrics featuring stitched embroidery designs, with a particular emphasis on Punjabi styles, showcasing the designer’s versatility.

Irani Mitra herself graced the event in an Indowestern stitched saree of her own design, a true embodiment of her fusion aesthetics. The male showstopper echoed the theme, wearing a fabric with stitched embroidery that celebrated the richness and vibrance of contemporary classics.

The entire event resonated with appreciation and applause, affirming Irani Mitra’s ability to seamlessly blend tradition with contemporary fashion. Her journey from Kolkata to the Indian Couture Runway Week is a testament to her dedication, creativity, and relentless pursuit of pushing the boundaries in the world of fashion.
