Actor Karan Thakur talks about Nepotism & trolling culture .

Actor Karan Thakur who has been seen in hit webseries like Commondo (Hotstar) & Avrodh 2 (Sony Liv) shares his opinion on nepotism & trolling culture in regard to latest Netflix release ‘Archies’ Directed by Zoya Akthar.

I strongly believe that people these days ‘love to hate’ and a big credit goes to social media for spreading the venom of hatred as everyone wants to over exaggerated their opinion. Indian cinema is more than 100 years old and will survive till eternity, unlikely every other industry or sector Entertainment Industry has seen its phase of highs & lows. But, from last few years one word which we very commonly heard is ‘Nepotism’ and how people are using it for their own good & Publicity.

People outside film industry hardly knows how a film is made , how many households run through it and what all things get in stake in the entire film making process. It’s very convenient to just bash a film than facing camera, writing a script or direct a film.

I have recently seen ‘Archies’ on Netflix and it’s a different type of cinema which the indian audience are still not able to accept. A High school musical drama inspired from a comic series is something very unique coming from Zoya Akthar who has directed phenomenal movies like Gullyboy, Dil dhadakne do, taalash etc is worth watching. The dialogue delivery & performance by Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor , Agastya Nanda and other cast of the film is exactly how it is meant to be based on the time frame the movie is set. But I really feel bad for these newbies as how they are trolled by so called ‘film critics’ just because of their family backgrounds.

Karan Concludes. I strongly believe we should start seeing cinema just a medium of entertainment and ignore the content we don’t like instead of spreading hate & negativity, After all…. Art is Subjective.
